The term sustainability, in its environmental usage, refers to the potential longevity of vital human ecological support systems, such as the planet's climatic system, systems of agriculture, industry, forestry, fisheries, and the systems on which they depend. In fact long term unsustainable human activity is a blind gate which will lead to resource conflicts, wars, hunger and deaths. The number of people on earth is now...

We are now chewing on the capital and not on the interest as we are driving other species to extinction at a rate at least hundred times higher than the one in pre human history. -Put another way, we are taking the bricks out of the building beneath us, and we have no clue about the consequences and implications. This is nothing else than gambling, gambling with our future.

Our way of living is affecting the ecosystems in several different ways. Presently every fifth human do not have access to clean drinking water. The need for cheap food leads to increased use of pesticides, deforestation, modification of genes and increased use of hormones and antibiotics in the industrial food production.
